Our speaker this month is Heather Powell of the Carroll County Workforce. Heather is the manager for the newly rebranded workforce development agency, Carroll County Workforce Development.  Recently recognized is an independent workforce area, Heather is leading CCWD forward in partnership with local businesses and agencies to develop a highly-skilled workforce in our county.  She believes in helping people identify their strengths and contributions which positively impact one’s self-worth.  

Heather is a graduate of Marshall University with a BS in Therapeutic Recreation and graduate studies in public administration. Her prior work experience is in the non-profit and disability fields.  She and her husband raised their two children and many pets in Westminster.  In her free time, she enjoys skiing, kayaking, hiking, and travel.
